The below French-written paper by Elena Debbaut with the tile: “Women’s role within companies” is reconsidering the obsolete gender equality legislation in Switzerland. The paper is suggesting the implementation of a technology-based selection process to achieve gender parity.

This paper will take into account the following aspects:

– the role of the women within a business organization

– the mechanism action towards professionally active women

– how technology may influence gender equality

– some ideas about women integration not on a separative basis, but an inclusive one.

I wonder if the new trend of inclusive writing within the Swiss TV medias can alter the cultural approach towards professionally Swiss-based women.

The data from numerous studies on this subject and the analysis of words used to categorize the same attitudes in the world of work are confirmed by my own experiments on social networks and those of other journalists and bloggers who write on the LeTemps newspaper website.

A recent article in the newspaper LeTemps announced in its headline: Switzerland is the country where women have the least chance to be promoted.

Have you had the opportunity to see some interactions between men and women at work ? In general, for an equivalent position, women have excellent know-how, come up with innovative ideas, and apply business processes with more common sense. Even more: women are better at crisis management, share useful information, and develop their employees and teams more, according to a study published in the Harvard Business Review.

How to improve the importance and presence of women in companies ? Positive laws and discrimination against women are unenforceable due to cultural weight. However, a “Technology Bonus” system for companies will reduce the cultural weight and will be much more motivating than the punitive aspect of any gender equality law.
